IMG Media, a division of IMG Worldwide, the global sports, fashion and media company, has agreed a deal to distribute the rights to the premier skateboarding series, BOWL-A-RAMA.

The BOWL-A-RAMA series, which is staged and produced by Frontside Events, is the largest concrete skateboarding series in the world, held annually in Australia, New Zealand and, for the first time last year, the USA.

The new deal will see IMG develop and enhance the international distribution of the series across all media platforms, including live broadcasts, highlights shows and digital footage, thereby showcasing the event to both new and existing fans.

The 2013 series gets underway in Wellington, New Zealand, on 13 February, with the series then moving on to Sydney’s Bondi Beach just under a week later on 19 February, with the world’s best skateboarders coming together to battle it out for both titles.

Adam Kelly, Head of Business Development, Senior Vice President, IMG Media, said: “We are very pleased to be working with Frontside on the BOWL-A-RAMA series. It is further evidence of our ongoing commitment to action sports and we hope to not only raise the profile of the event itself but also the sport of skateboarding in the process.”

Chad Ford, Frontside Events Director, said: “We’re so stoked to have this deal with IMG Media, BOWL-A-RAMA is the biggest professional concrete series in the World and has the best international skateboarders travel to the events. It only makes sense to partner with IMG to grow the media platform of this series.”
