IMG Media, a division of IMG Worldwide, the sports, fashion and media company, is to market the Premier League’s media rights for the next three years in Japan, Vietnam and Mongolia.

IMG won the rights to the 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons in competition with broadcasters and other media businesses and is to begin the tender process for all visual properties including live and highlights packages in the three territories.

Richard Scudamore, chief executive of the Premier League, said: “We know IMG well and are extremely pleased that they have chosen to invest in the Premier League broadcasting rights for Japan, Vietnam and Mongolia.

“We look forward to working with them as they distribute the Barclays Premier League in a comprehensive and innovative manner to our fans in all three countries.”

Michael Mellor, Senior Vice President and Head of Football, IMG Media, said: “The popularity of the Premier League has never been higher in the Asian regions and we anticipate there will be strong interest for the various rights in the three territories.

The successful bidders will also have access to the 24/7 Content Service produced by IMG Sports Media for all international broadcast partners.
